CT Scan Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to do anything special? And what will happen to me during the CT Scan?

You do not need to prepare for the CT Scan. You may be asked to remove any jewellery from your head and neck, so that it does not interfere with the study. Once in the CT scanner room all that you have to do is to sit still in the machine for between 20 and 40 seconds.

We will explain each stage before it happens. You will not feel anything and, the only part of your body positioned in the scanner will be your head.

After the scan we will send the final results to your dentist. And that's all there is to it! (If you have a fairly new XP computer then you can even have a copy of the scan for yourself.)
